I would challenge your comment that “Well, for one, we would probably be a little poorer financially.”, because, as the old saying goes “a rising tide raises all ships”.
With this minga concept, you may be giving up a hour (or day or ..) of wage/sales, but with the community investment you are making, I believe it will pay multiples of dividends (monetary and otherwise) down the road.
